Saturday, September 27, 2008 Family and Friends gathered at Smith Funeral Home to say their goodbyes to Leslie Williams, Sr.. Deacon Leslie, passed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2008 with his devoted wife Sister Berdia Kennon Williams by his side.
OBITUARY
Bro. Leslie Williams was born on October 11, 1944 in Mangham, Louisiana. He was the fourth child born to the late Leslie Williams, Sr. and Evenlyn (Grant) Williams. As a young man he united with the Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. Franklin. He moved to Monroe, LA., and became a member of the New Light Baptist Church until he later joined Mt. Horeb Free Will Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Thomas B. White where he remained until his death.
The angel of silence ended his life on Saturday, September 20, 2008. He leaves to cherish his memories: his very devoted wife, Mrs. Berdia Kennon Williams, a loving mother, Evelyn (Grant) Williams, one son, Leslie Williams III, one daughter, Lamia Roshunda Hayes (Nathan) both of Monroe, La., three step daughters: Yolanda Hardwell (Leslie), Lakendra Kennon both of Monroe, La., and Monique Kennon of Shreveport, La., one step-son Robert Kennon, whom proceeded him in death.
